Should I get another chinchilla to go with my baby boy he is around 6 months. If you think I should then what gender and age. (I wouldnt mind breeding if I did a lot more research.

I would suggest a male... not sure what age is better though (maybe a younger one???) Is your male from a breeder or a petstore? If he's from a petstore I wouldn't even consider breeding him... but that's JMO though...

There are a few things to consider with this. First of all, do you have enough money to purchase and support another Chinchilla? Is your cage big enough for two of the little furballs? For now, I would get another male. Male to male pairs get along well most of the time, and if you want to further ensure that they will get along, you can get a baby Chinchilla (babies tend to adapt better than adults). If you intend to breed later on, purchase a quality male now, so you can get your herd started :) Or, if you never intend to breed, you can get a pet quality male. There are always a few on the board that are looking for homes. You can have just as much fun owning Chinchillas as pets only as breeding them, although I know the attraction of breeding, as with a lot of help from breeders, I myself have decided to start soon. Hopefully whatever you decide will work out for the best!

Good luck-
Andrea

I would get another male. Just more simple that way.
