Hay?

How old do chins have to be in order to start feeding them hay? Or do they eat it from baby on up, i have a chin that is almost 3 months old and i wasn't sure? Thanks for your help!!

Kits will start to nibble or "practice eat" with hay at a very young age. If your chin is 3 months, he is plenty old enough to be eating hay and I would recommend you offer a good timothy hay

My chinchillas all have hay from day one, It is in the cage with the mother, I usually start to see them nibbling on it around the same time I see them nibbling on the food.

Thanks everyone, i will put a good hay in with her immediately!!!! I have only had her for 2 days and i already love her soo much!!! She is warming up to me fast :)
