Food ???? from a NewBe

Hi al,
So glad to have found this fourm! I have a food ??? U all speak of cat food and such... well are we talking about the dry/canned food? Not sure which to use...

Most people recommend a high quality, low fat, high protein dry cat food...some common and good choices are Royal Canin Slim 37 or 38, Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul, Innova, Wellness, etc....most are available at PetSmart or other large pet stores, although some brands you may have to check smaller specialty pet shops...

Exactly. Wet cat food can be used occaisonally as a treat, but that has to be a high-quality one as well. Pet food is not created equal and you really have to read into labels to find the best food for your little critters. :)

So can I assume that canned in not good? Dry ONLY? I see people feed meat and such, Im confused????

Feeding dry is more cost effective and you can leave it out without worrying about it going bad. Canned food and fruits/veggies should really be removed after an hour so they don't go bad.
Do a search on "hedgehog diet" or "hedgehog food" and you should pull up some past threads on the topic

Thank you ALL... just want to do the right thing here.... They guy I got him from, gave us some food, it HAS nuts/dried fruits in it... I need to not do this..... i will find another...
