Makes you think about what you're feeding your animals! I feel pretty confident in my hedgie mix. They eat much better than I do :)

lol, I always had a policy with my son, that I wouln'd feed him anything that I wouldn't eat myself (this included pureed jar food). If I couldn't make myself taste it, then I wasn't about to make him eat it!

umm, not too sure If I can do the same with Lola tho! :) I do think though, that since it's not like they can go shopping for themselves, that we as "their pets" should make sure they have the best!

ONe thing to remember guys.. ingredients are deceiving...

Chicken: Means that it is the meat, but with 80 % water still remaining, so if it is the #1 ingredient, that actually means that 80 % of it is water, so bump it down about 5 nothces on the list.

Chicken By-Product meal: Companies claim that this isn't the beaks and legs etc, but it is. If you feed this as the main ingredient, your animals is not getting a consistent supply of meat, it varies.

Chicken Meal: Is what you want to see as main ingredient, it means it is the meat, with all the water removed, dehydrated. So if this is the #1 ingredient, then meat is the main ingredient in the food.

P.S... Nutro brand dog and cat food....they use none of the by-products and only use meat meal (Chicken Meal, Lamb Meal) as the main ingredient. They also add in excellent natural sources of vitamins and antioxidents. They are my personal fav. That company is also one of the few that ONLY makes dog and cat food, so they specialize. (eg- Science Diet is Colgate Palmolive, and another one (i cant remeber exactly which) is Hershey) They also dont spend their money on advertising...they don't need to.

Haha, I always tell my mom that my pets eat better than I do, and it's true. One of my friends says I'm living through my pets, if I can't (or won't!) eat healthy, at least they will. lol.
