Hehe, I wouldnt worry too much. It is almost certain that he is just quilling! Beware though, quilling hedgies can be grumpy hedgies!

My Conker has been quilling for what seems like a year. I mean, he is a year old and is still quilling. He has been doing it all REAL slow.

If he starts to get bald patches where the quills are not growing back in then I would be worried. Sounds like he is young enough to just be quilling though. Also, stress can cause quill loss as well. Hope this helps some! :)
