I recieved an email from a hedgehog breeder a couple days ago, saying that a baby will be available next weekend because somebody who had a deposit on it changed their mind. I'm pretty excited, this will be my first hedgehog, and I'll be on spring break late next week, so I am glad I will have lots of time to spend with the baby. I originally planned on getting one during the summer for this reason. :D

Well congratulations, and I hope that you have a wonderful spring break taking care of your new little one. I'm a chinny mommy myself and it's a big responsibility, but it's sooo incredibly worth it. I wish you all the best - Jessica

You will love it! I was a caretaker for my sister's hedgie when they were on vacation and we bonded. He died recently and I plan to get a hedgie of my own as soon as I stop mourning too much. Our Needles was wonderful. They mostly eat & sleep during the day but at night they're active. He was a shy little guy but had a personality. Your hedgie will probably let you know when he/she is willing to be cuddled. They are messy but not smelly. Where did you find a good breeder? Needles came from a pet shop and I think probably was not from healthy stock. We loved him deeply, though, and I intend to get my own. This is my first time in the chat room and I don't know how to use it yet.

Where did you find a good breeder?
I spent a lot of time checking around online, but could only find one locally for me. Thankfully, she has a good rep and lots of people use her. I'd check various sites out because sometimes one won't list somebody and vice versa: http://www.hedgehogs-hedgehogs.com/hedgehogs-breeders.htm
