I got my hedgie about a week ago and everything has been going fairly well he started eating and drinking regularly! i have noticed that he has some soft stool it doesnt seem to be green but does get stuck to the vlux liners i have been using. i am trying to use paper towels to line his cage since every morning there are about 7-10 places that he has gone (not in the litterbox but right in his igloo where he is sleeping of course). i was just wondering if this is normal since he is in a new home and how long it should go on for? thanks.

He will probably quit going in his igloo once he is a bit older and is more used to his new home.
Keep in mind that he might never be truly littertrained. Some are, some are pee trained with poops anywhere and some will just do both anywhere. :)

You might try placing some old poops into his litter box to help him get the idea. Also, my secret to getting Chloe to go in her litter box is to put it under her wheel. That way any run off and flyin' poos go right into the pan :) And now that Chloe is a bit older she actually gets OFF of the wheel, into her litter pan and goes potty :D She has made me a proud hedgie mom, lol. So, basically the trick is to place the pan where he would normally go, rather than train him, train yourself, its much easier :)

I actually have been placing a paper towel under his wheel in addition to the litter box, only problem is that he has yet to learn what the wheel is for. he does enjoy squeezing under it tho. thanks for the tips.
