I was looking on pet finder just out of curiousity and I came upon this. I cant believe the way this person is handling that poor chinchilla.

That's aweful. I don't think chinchillas have scruffs on their necks like cats. It acually looks more like it's back skin than a scruff anyways. Poor chinnie. :(

God that's horrible... I wish I could adopt it just to get it out of that horrible home... :-/

I think you can e-mail the owner. Maybe we should do it, and tell her that how she is handling him is wrong. Maybe they don't know.

Alright...I emailed them. I just want to bring the point accross to them, that's all. Sorry if I am getting out of hand. That is just no way to treat an animal.

Oh goodness... *shakes head*
Well, the petfinder listing is from a shelter, so hopefully they're good people who just don't know any better. Maybe a well intentioned email would help fill them in on the proper handling of chinchillas.

I know a lot of animals carry their young around like that, but darn... that chinchilla din't look at all happy. I felt bad for it.

I just clicked on the link and it was expired??

Oh well... I'd never hold a chin like that... mainly because it's hard to tell what you're actually holding on to, know what I mean?

Well, they replied and said that he was only held like that for a few minutes to ensure a good shot. I told them that it was very uncomfortable for the chin and how would they like to be held like that? I told them that they should remove the pic and post a new one beings it makes them look bad as the owners. This could be why the page is expired. They might have taken my advice...or at least I hope. Sorry for those that think I got too involved...but I am very determined. :)

Chin gal, you are too funny... you are always prepared to fire off an email, no matter what the topic.. to get the inside info, and keep everyone informed on chinnies!
