losing teeth?

are they supposed to lose teeth? i lost ruby for a few days, and i found her in a box under my bed. i also found a tooth in the box... it was bloody on the end, so i know it's a tooth. it looked like she tried to annoint herself with blood (how goth) because there was a bloody patch on her quills in a spor where she usually anoints. she's eating dry food fine. i'm taking her to the vet, but i just want to make sure i'm right about this....

How old is she?? when they are still young they do teeth and get new teeth in.. if she is still young ..I"m sure she is fine and it was just a baby tooth falling out :)

Hmmmm, I have never heard this. I never noticed my hedgie loosing baby teeth and then getting adult teeth.
I thought I heard that you have to be extra careful with their teeth since they will not grow new teeth, if they break them or if they fall out.
I could very well be wrong...so maybe someone else will post an answer.:)
