Anyone have any favorite one-pot meals that they would like to share? Here's one that I like:
One Pot Garden Chicken and Noodles
2 TB butter or margarine
3/4 lb boneless, skinless chicken cut into 3/4" pieces
1/3 cup finely chopped onion
1 3/4 cups chicken broth (14.5 oz can)
2 cups frozen peas and carrots (10 oz pkg)
½ pkg of wide noodle pasta (6 oz)*
1 can condensed cream of chicken or mushroom soup (10 3/4 oz can)
3/4 cup milk
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
optional: 1 4oz jar chopped pimentos, drained
1. Melt butter in heavy, 5 qt. saucepan over medium heat. Add chicken and onion. Cook for 5 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink.
2. Add chicken broth; heat until boiling.
3. Stir in uncooked pasta and frozen vegetables. Stir to coat evenly with liquid.
4. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat and cover, simmering on medium heat 8 minutes while stirring occasionally. Most of the liquid should be absorbed.
5. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, stir soup, milk, ½ cup cheese and pimentos (if using) until smooth. Stir into pasta mixture.
6. Simmer until heated through.
7. Serve sprinkled with remaining cheese.
Makes 6 svgs @ 1 cup each.
*This recipe was on the back of a pkg. of Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Wide Noodle-style pasta. It’s rather yummy but feel free to use your favorite noodle.
My favorite one pot meal would have to be Kraft Dinner! It's so fast and easy to make could even add some hot dog wieners in there or something. mmm good.....

Kraft Marcaroni and Cheese
1/2 can cream of mushroom
1/2 can drained tuna fish
1/4 can drained corn
Just make the pasta like normal and toss in the other stuff. Kinda like a really cheap Tuna Casserole.

My mom make Tuna Casserole- only she uses peas instead of corn, and adds some cheddar cheese to the mixture. Once everything is all mixed together, its put in a pan and more cheese is put ontop with either crushed soda crackers, or regular chips. Then the entire thing is put in the oven until the chips/crackers are golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted.

Kraft Dinner is one of my all-time favorite indulgences  Sure, I love to make home made macaroni and cheese (mine is quite tasty, if I do say so myself) but there is just something to be said for the day-glo orange cheese...

I do that sometimes if I have some in the 'fridge  Try it w/ one of those Mexican blends sometime. Really tasty!
Do you folks have Kraft Easy Mac in Canada? That's the single serve, heat and eat version. I like to mix the Easy Mac w/ a 3 oz can of tuna and some bread crumbs. Or cut up Yves-brand veggie dogs

We do have them :) Ive never tried adding tuna (I always go for the cheese LOL) - but that definently sounds yummy. Like a really fast version of a Mac and Cheese casserole.
BTW- Im so pleased to see that at least one 'American' knows what "Kraft Dinner" is. My boyfriend (who is American) and his family looked at me like I had noodles coming out of my ears when I said "Kraft Dinner". Apparently there is no such thing- and its Mac N Cheese  Same thing for my cousins in Florida...Dont know what they are missing out on!!

Oh, I am well-schooled in Canadiana  I have some friends in Ontario so I get learn all sorts of things. Isn't it funny how one continent came have such diversity? True, Canadians and Americans really aren't that different but still...
You will have to start a thread describing poutine and donair (sp?). I haven't had enough courage to try either but I'm sure that I will one day, chased by your country's version of Smarties :)

They probably just eat the generic Mac and Cheese if they don't know what Kraft Dinner is. Which by the way is nasty. The only way to go is Kraft. The generic kinds are gross. I do have to say I like Velveta Shells and Cheese too.
