as you probably know by me signature i am getting another hedgie i am currently trying to find one that will be available at the end of april when i am in my new house and am ready to bring them home. I have come across two breeders that will have hedgies availbe then one has older aldult hedgies (6 months to 2.5 years) and the other has babies that will be like 8-9 weeks old by then. The cost for both wold be about the same but i am wondering weither or not it is better to get an aldult or a baby? I was wondering if anyone who has gotten both had any opinions on this???

MY opinion would be to get a baby, I have had both and found that the babies are easier to get used to you ..alot friendlier..most older hedgehogs take longer to train and become friendly becuse they are set in their way..But that isn't always the case..
My main suggestion would be to go and visit both breeders and see if you find one you like and take the one you feel most comfortable with :) ..good luck .I hope you find what your looking for :)

Michelle is a good breeder, that's where Scooter came from. She is also my old room mate. Most of her adults are really friendly. do you know which ones she is selling??

heres whar robyn sent me from her
I have several different adults for sale..
Makonya is 2.5 years old and a little huffy but cute ($50), Shned is a year old and is a beautiful liver-nosed hedgehog with white/ light cinnimon coloured quills, but he doesn't like to be handled much, and I'm asking about $75 for him, Bob is Shned's brother and is a dark eyed white.. he's adorable and has a ton of energy and he'll be hard to part with.. I'm asking $130 for him, Next I have a set of triplets that are all females, about 6 months old $120 each. If you would like to come by sometime to see them just let me know.. give me a call at home (444-0570) or work (453-7750- push 2,3 for photo lab). I am moving away on the 28th so as long as it's before then we can set something up.

like has been said earlier some...not all of course...but some older hedgies will be more set in their way and it will take long to change their behavior...with babies this doesnt seem to be the case. i have 2 hedgies my girl i got when she was 6 weeks and because she was so young and i handled her all the time she is a huge suck. my boy i got when he was quite a few months old and its been two years and i am still trying to break him in. If it were me i would take a baby, but adults do need a home to so i guess you will have to wait until you interact with them to see what they were like...from reading her msg that you posted i would be a little sketchy about getting an adult hedgie who is huffy...thats the way mine was and still is and i have tried everything. Ok that was a bunch of rambling but i guess it all comes down to you getting a chance to interact with them i am sure you will be able to find the one that suits you

it is going to be hard for me to interact with the hedgehogs as the aldults are an 1 hour away from me and the babies 2.5 hours.
