I was putting my hedgie lulu in her cage just now and I noticed what looks like some kind of skin tag on her head right where the quills start. Anyway I touched it and apparently it was just puss and i noticed a tiny tiny bit of blood and it looks like she's missing a couple little quills (maybe 3). She appears just fine full of energy as always and is eating. What's going on?

How old is Lulu and does she have a cage mate? Is it possible she got stuck in something and hurt herself? I wouldn't be too concerned about 3 quills being missing. I usually find 8-10 quills in my adults who have long sinced quilled. The puss is worriesome though... :(

She's about 10 weeks old and doesn't have a cage mate. She was running around in her ball for a while earlier. Could she have done it then?

If she's 10 weeks old, I'm guessing she is quilling. My girls are doing the same thing right now. That would explain the quill loss and the little blood you saw. Keep an eye on the puss area. Did you see any in the ball?
