dog food?

Just curious as to if there's a big reason why hedgies get cat food and not dog food? Like, if I was feeding my dog some wet dogfood with his dry (as sometimes happens) could I give a hedgie (if it existed) a little dog food? Or is that craziness? :|

I think the problem with dog food is that the dry kibble tends to be to big for a hedgie.
