I am just so happy, I had to share. I rescued a 4 mo. old girl named Annie last month. Annie was hardly ever handled and most of her interaction was with the family cat who would stick a paw in the 10 gallon aquarium she use to call home. She is a very nervouse girl, spends all of her time in her bag. Does not like to socialize much with the other 2 girls I have and definately does not want to be touched by the human hand. I have been taking her bag out and letting her rest in the bag on my chest while I watch TV in bed, so that we can have interaction time. Even though she is in the bag she gets petrified of being on me, unless I cover the bag with my comforter and blanket that I sleep under. So far I have tried every type of food to coax her to be my friend, she wants none of it. I slept in a shirt for a week and put it in her bag, she pushed it out. I've willed myself to be patient, but it is so hard when she is so cute and all I want to do is love and squeeze on her. Well this morning, while I had her on my chest in the bed I accidentally fell asleep. When I awoke, I felt around under all the bedding to check her bag, she was gone! I immediately sat up to look for her and poor Annie went flying across the bed. The girl had burrowed herself in my hair. Boy was she and I shocked. I scooped her up an put her back in her bag, where she popped and hissed unmercifully, as soon as I laid back down she scrambled out of the bag and ran straight up my chest into my hair. She began chewing on it, pulling it, digging in it, until she got it just right to curl up and sleep in it. Now, this pulling of hair is so not comfortable for me, and you should have seen how teased it was after our session together was over. But now I am excited because I have found what makes her happy and comfortable. Just thought I would share.
