Elizabeth Marie passed away quietly last night at the tender age of 3.5. She has been battling a number of ailments in recent weeks. She suffered a jaw infection, which caused her to quit eating and then an eye infection. She had ceased trying to eat and was extremely lethargic, but still sweet and wonderful.
I held her last night for a long time and she was so happy and content to be in my arms. Somehow, I knew that would be our last moment together. I found her this morning in her igloo, having gone sometime last night. She looked so peaceful and relieved, to be rid of the stress her body has put on her these past few weeks. I was too.
I will miss her terribly. She was my sweet baby girl, who i loved from the moment she came out of the womb. She blossomed into the cutest little hoglet, who ate her way to the top. She was the friendliest hog you have ever met and loved to be held and snuggled.
The herd is now down to just three, from eight. Her twin brother, Ozzie, is still going strong and shows no signs of age! He will miss his neighbor and sister, i am sure. Zoey and Chloe will miss their upstairs cousin, two wheel salute in her honor!
To all the herd in hog heaven, take care of her. She is so sweet! She is gone to be with her Mum and Dad, Pixie and Puff, her cousins Kiko and Ivory.
