Sorry I am slow to post on babies. They are 5 1/2 wks old and now mom is trying to wean. I thought they weaned at 7 to 8 wks. All three are doing fine. love my new babies, mom is my baby still. I don't need two more boys but I don't think I can let them go. They are more addictive than Lays potato chips. I have been to you know where and back with them and mom. This takes nerves of steel to survive.

You should wean male hoglets no later than 7 weeks. They should definitely be starting to eat on their own now. I wean my males at 6 weeks, they can definitely get mom pregnant if they're not weaned early enough and I have heard of 6 week old babies getting mom or female siblings pregnant. To me it's just safer to wean them at 6 weeks if (like yours) they are showing good signs of eating on their own.

If you keep the boys make sure you cage them away from mom and preferrably away from eachother, even brothers can fight when they reach sexual maturity and they can kill eachother.
