When you post a "chinnie for sale" ad,how do you choose the right buyer?Do you base it on who would give it the best posible care, love and attention...who can pay first....who makes it easier for you to get rid of them....I personally have never "sold" a chin...I've placed rescues, but I also have turned people down(for ferrets)(ended up being a 12 year old)...My interests are in the animal....maybe that's just me....

Well, I have yet to sell a chin, but I would go with who would provide the best possible home. It wouldn't matter to me how long they took to sell, or any other inconveniences, it's worth it to find them all loving homes. :D After all, you brought them into this world, now it's your responsibility to make sure they get the best they can.
Edit: "you brought them into this world"...I am speaking for kits...lol!

"Good home" and "best possible home" are two different things.
I haven't sold any chinchillas yet, but I can answer this question from my experience with selling other animals: I want someone who is knowledgeable about the animal, and who I don't think is going to abandon it in six months when it doesn't match their furniture anymore.
I want to make sure the animal will be properly housed, fed, and cared for. Everything above and beyond that is up to them. I flat out refuse to create (or sign) a contract that dictates every aspect of how someone cares for their animals. For oh-so-many reasons.

Well, you can't blame someone for wanting the best for their animals that they have raised. I would never throw them in any home "assuming" they would get proper care. I would most likely have a novel's worth of questions to ask!

Oh, no, I'm not saying I wouldn't ask questions. Questions are important. That's how you know it is a good home.
I am just saying I won't dictate care (or be dictated to). That's all.
