Hey...I was just looking for a playpen for Hemi so she could get lots of exercise even I could be there to watch her every second. Would this be a good playpen to buy for her?

The thing that concerns me is the height of the walls...is 9 inches too low?

I have five of those. A hog can go under them or over them. I've seen both. Marco climbed over once and Odo went under once. They haven't tried it since that though. I always keep an eye on them while they are out and about. Another thing is that Odo is really good at getting right at a point where the hinges are and pushes really hard. She can open the fence that way. I use them, I just keep a close watch out for escaping hedgies.
On the other hand, Frodo has never tried to escape out of the fenced in area. :dunno:
I've got some photo's of the play areas in my gallery if you want to take a look. Shouldn't be too hard to find, even for a KID like yourself.

Well then, Hemi would probably try to escape it. I guess I could try it anyway, Petsmart will return/exchange anything. LOL.
Oh...so we're going to play that one, eh, Billy? I see how it is. But since my parents raised me to be respectful to the OLDer people around me, I guess I can't say anything back.

Even if she tries to escape, just keep an eye on her and pluck her and pop her back inside. That's what I do. I recommend them if your going to keep an eye on her. The instructions are really simple, even a CHILD could put it together. ;)

LOL...just had to get that little dig in there, didn't you? LOL.
And I'd keep an eye on her...she'd most likely be running around in that thing in my room with me there, but when I take her out for playtime, I have to practically follow her around so she doesn't find something really interesting...like, I don't know...a warm dark hole that I missed. It's hard enough getting her out of pants leg when she decides to crawl up there. I can't imagine how hard it would be trying to get her out of a tiny hole. :dunno:

that's what I have for my gang and so far, no escapes (knock on wood). Of course, I'm always there watching them, but they seem pretty thrilled to be running around...I also put TONS of toys in there to keep them busy so they don't usually think of escaping. hehe...a tricky one, I am. ;)
I also like to put it outside for them on the nice days so they can play in the grass and flowers and dig for grubs :) Ododad has a great idea! I should get like 3 more and put them all together and have one GIANT MEGA PLAYPEN! MWUHAHAHAHAHA! (that's my malicious laughter) Thanks for the inspiration, Billy!

I have one of those (got it at walmart for roughly three dollars less, btw.) Nacl has figured out how to pop the little closure hooks (very entertaining to watch) but he usually doesn't try to hard and I always keep an eye on him. Lately though I've been putting him in our guest bathtub...it's bigger with higher walls and I can fit more fun stuff in there with more room to run.
