I have two male hedgehogs that are just too active for their own good. I was wondering what would be the best thing to put weight on them?? I'm trying a high protein kitten food right now, which seems to be helping but I didn't know if there was something better I could be using... :dunno:

I'm looking into this for Oliver. That boy is a compulsive wheeler and has been losing grams he can't afford to lose because of it. I did a fecal to rule out intestinal parasites and then I added some of the regular adult formulas of the foods I feed. How much do your hogs weigh? Oliver usually was in the low 300 gram range, and he's been hovering at 250g. He had a full exam including x-rays, and my vet didn't find anything abnormal.

My boys hit a high of 350g range and have dropped down to around the 300g range. I've had a full exam done on Bandit and my vet said he was healthy and nothing out of the ordinary. I know they are super active and both were recently used in breeding so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with the weight loss.

Just an idea. Frodo was wheeling and tubing so much (and still is) that she was getting to be stick and bones. I started adding some CSFTCLS Kitten formula into her mix. She loves it (always eats it first) and has put on about 40gms over the last few months and has kept it on.
