Is anyone else here following the Tour de France this year?

A little bit. I'll start to follow it more once it nears the finish. It's Armstrong's to lose.

I think Armstrong could win it for a seventh time. Jan Ullrich (his main enemy) is back only 1'36" after stage 6, so it could be very close. He'll probably get thinned out in the mountains (bring on Alp d'Huez!!)

Even though I'm American, I am sort of routing for Jan Ullrich.
I suppose my body is in America, but my heart will forever be in Deutschland!

I want Ullrich to win todays stage (since it's ending in Germany today). Since his last win was in 1998, then he came second for a while, then not so well last year, I think he's almost past his prime. He will definately finish in the top ten, but I'm not sure if he can overthrow Lance.
I'd like to see Joseba Beloki come back and win atleast a stage or maybe a jersey. Two years ago he had a terrible crash that left him with a broken hip, elbow and finger. He was out last year, unable to race.

As a huge spinning fan... and bicyclist (I ride my bike to work EVERY day they aren't calling for rain)... YES I follow the Tour de France... I even smiled when I saw your Avatar yesterday. My fingers are crossed that Lance wins it again... you have to admire a man that came back from cancer to win 6 tours in a row.
(and he has plenty of time to regain the lead)

He's only back by 2:00 and something, so once they get further into the mountains he will be fine. I think Jens Voigt and Bobby Julich and maybe even Ullrich will see a bit of the Yellow before Lance reclaims it (which he will) before Paris.
I decided to make a tour Avatar because of the former US Postal teams new jerseys. Notice how there is a yellow band around the left elbow? Is that something to do with Lance's LiveStrong campaign?

Don't quote me on the yellow band around the elbow.. but I believe I did hear a news story stating it represented Lance's fundraising efforts for cancer awareness.

I thought I remembered hearing something like that two, but that was way back before I had seen the new designed jerseys. It makes sense that the tour is spreading more awareness for a good cause. Believe it or not, I'm pretty sure I saw Jan Ullrich wearing a Livestrong bracelet after his hospital visit for that crash. Aswell as him, all of the commentators are also wearing one ;)

My spinning instructor gave all of the regulars in our spinning class Livestrong bracelets a year ago.. before they were a big thing... I had many people ask me for it... I even had people in Cozumel Mexico begging for me to give it up... After wearing it for about 6 months I finally handed it over to my son. I'm glad to see his fellow contenders and commentators wearing them.. it's for a good cause.
