:hearts: Hemi decided to actually sneeze today, and it's just the cutest thing ever.

Do hedgie sneezes usually mean an illness, or do they do it like other animals do - to clear their noses? Because she's done it about 12 times in the last couple minutes.

hmmm, that might be a sign of a cold. I'm not sure the only time I had a hedgie sneeze on me was Akasha and I got goo on my hand from it. She ended up having a cold when we went to the vet..

Cort, I've never heard any of mine sneeze.

So far...when she sneezes, nothing comes out at all. I honestly think she likes hearing herself make those noises. But I'll keep an eye on it, and if she's still sneezing tomorrow, off to the vet. (I only say tomorrow because the office is closed right now since it's almost 10 pm)

The only question that I can think of is: Is there any bubbles or snot flying out when she sneezes? But I know if there were, then Hemi would be at the vet RIGHT NOW! So, maybe she is just sneezing. :dunno:
I know if you were worried about it, then you would be doing something about it. :)

If she has not been sneezing before and suddenly sneezes a bunch of times she may just have something tickling her nose. If she is still sneezing today or starts sneezing more often or has snot coming from her nose she needs to see the vet.

Sometimes you do not see the snot for a while as once they get a runny nose they start licking it so much. If she is licking her nose more than normal plus still sneezing off to the vet goes Hemi. :)

Hemi_mygirl, I have a male that sneezes a lot. I've brought him to the vet a bunch of time and they tell me all the time he is very healthy. So, If you see anything coming out, I'd bring her in ASAP. Don't want to have to go though a URI like I did. Not fun at all. I'm still paying for my mistake. Good luck with her.

Razzle sneezes once in a while, but only once or twice in a short period of time and that's it. (I know...it is such a cute sound, isn't it?) Sometimes I think it might be from his fleece blanket that he scratches and gets some fleece fuzz-balls on his nose.

But with 12 sneezes in a row like that, just check to make sure there isn't something dusty that might be irritating Hemi's nose. Otherwise, I agree with the others to keep a look out for any nasal discharge; or if the sneezing continues and you can't figure out why, it's never a bad idea to get it checked out by a vet.

Herbie has sneezed a few times too, but not 12 times in a row. It is a very cute sound when they do it. If it continues I would have it checked out. She might be allergic to something she's eating, you're using to clean, etc. Good luck and keep us updated!
