Okay so I'm starting to get super worried about the vet coming out tomorrow. I called all the exotic vets in my area first and none of them did house calls for USDA paperwork. I finally had to call a country mobile vet. She seems super nice but I'm sooo nervous. I mean I have 14 hedgehogs and I'm worried it's going to be a long tiring process. I also don't know if she's going to want to see each of them individually...sigh I'm getting myself all worked up over this I know but I just don't know what to expect. :dunno:

The first visit my vet did weigh and check over every hedgie! Oh, and did fecal samples on all.

Good luck, and please let us know how it goes! I really want to get licenced but I've only got 1 (2 next week) female currently that I don't breed. I will be breeding my new little girl eventually, but with these new rules on licencing (from the way I understand it, you HAVE to have at least 4 females to get licenced), I don't think I'll be able to get licenced for a while. It might be a while before I have enough animals to qualify. Oh well...

Calm down. I don't think you have anything to worry about IMPO.
You take excellent care of your hedgies, you have them in a clean enviorment, they are very healthy. The vet will see this, cut you some slack and everything will go according to plan. ;)

I'm just a worry wart about these things, Also when I talked to the vet on the phone it seemed like she didn't know all that much about hedgehogs...but I was desperate for someone to come out cause I have my USDA paperwork turned in and I'm expecting them to make an appointment soon to come out and check out all my stuff. I've gone over and regone over all my paperwork this last week.

Also in my area they wouldn't come out until I had more then 3 females. The first time I inquired about my license I only had two females.

Even if the vet that comes out dosen't have much or any experience in hedgies, he/she will be able to see they are in a wonderful enviroment and any vet can tell when a animal is being well taken care of. You don't have anything to worry about! :)
