Ok, i know you all are going to get sick of me, but i would rather come here and ask all of you, because your advice seems very knowledgeable.

last night my brothers spent the night, and the had a bowl of Act 2 butter lovers popcorn. Andey was running around crazy like usual, and he jumped right into the bowl! he knocked it over, and took off with a piece of popcorn!

right a way i followed him to his cage, where he sat nibbling on the popcorn, holding it in his front paws, i grabbed the popcorn, and he didnt want to let go! he held on to that popcorn, and stretched his body out as far as he could, trying not to let me get it.

well, i won and got it from him, because i am unsure if a piece of popcorn could hurt him.

so thats my question. a piece of popcorn, good or bad? safe or unsafe? :dunno:

i could have sworn that i heard corn wasnt good for them, but im not sure. better safe than sorry with my precious baby!

A small piece of popcorn won't hurt him but it is not appropriate as a treat since its hard to digest and the fake butter on top is not great either but he should be ok-standard rules apply-just keep a eye on the poop department and make sure he is pooping ok and not showing any signs of distress-does not sound like he got enough to cause any problems though so don't worry. Chins are like 2 year old kids, they will get into EVERYTHING and put ANYTHING in their mouths. I always cruise the floors in their play room to make sure stuff from feet such as leaves and such don't make it there. My worst fear is the neighbors oleander tree flowers getting stuck on feet-from what I gathered they are very toxic and they give me nightmares. (hmmm, maybe a way to get rid of the extra roundup in the garage......).

Yea I wouldnt worry to much about the popcorn he ate. But its not advisable as a snack. Think about when you eat popcorn too how they always get stuck in your teeth and throat. I could only imahgine if it got stuck in a chins throat or gums. Popcorn not a good snack for chinies. But arent they funny how they will not let yu get it back and do whatever it takes to keep you from getting it. LOL They are funny

Your chin is not the first chin to eat a piece of popcorn. Like Dawn said, just keep an eye on it... I was reading on a website about all kinds of junk food people fed their chins... but chins don't need it.. it doesn't make them happy, it makes the owner happy that they gave their chins a "treat"... At Easter my oldest girl jumped up onto the kitchen counter and was helping herself to jelly beans, right out of the bag. Imagine the sugar rush she was on that nite...

hahaha, they are hilarious.

he went into the kitchen last night, and was really searching for the popcorn.

i guess i wont even give him a piece, might as well stay safe and keep it away from him, and not let him get upset about what he's missing

Give him a piece of unsweetend shreaded wheat-he will love it and its good for him-better than raisens and such.
