I got home this evening after having to go back to my home town of Moline for the weekend. I had a girl due today...last time her pregnancy didn't take. I'm soo excited that when I peaked in her bag I saw at least two hoglets and quickly closed the bag placed the house back over it and checked her food and water. she's standing over them nursing and I'm soo excited!!! After the last litter being a disaster I really needed this :)

Well this morning I got a good peak into the bag and with the help of some mealies and, was able to see that she has 4 lil' hoglets. One seem slightly bigger then the other three but they are all looking great. I'm soo excited and soo happy I'm not getting up every two hours like last time.

that's fantastic!!!! :) just be careful not to disturb them too much. I'm soooo happy that this litter is working out so much better than the last one! You needed this, I'm sure.

This litter is a lot like my first litter...which didn't have any sort of complications. I've had the mom for awhile now and she's very relaxed when it comes to me hand feeding mealies. I only try to peak in once a day and try to do it when the mother is out. Although she tends to come out when I'm not around, so I place a few mealies in front of her bag and in her dish and she's happy as a clam. I get a quick head count and put the cage right back on the shelf. I'm so worried with this group that I'm going to wait at least a week to start taking pics of them. I also don't want to jinx myself. I have pics from Rosie's litter and they still make me feel weird...I smile cause they are cute but get a little down knowing they didn't make it.
