I just wanted to introduce myself. I have been an avid user of guinealynx forums, as guinea pigs were my first rodent. I have two wonderful guinea pigs, Ella and Kayla. I went through heck starting out, though, because I bought Ella and her sister, Sydney, at a pet store (this was before I knew all of this info was out there!) . . . Sadly, Syd died before she was 1 year old due to CHF (we gave her emergency care, but it turns out that she had a leaky valve that the vet didn't catch initially). The positive outcome was that I learned about guinea lynx and have since adopted Kayla.
So, this does all lead to my presence in chins and quills! I fell in love with the GP and it opened up this whole new world of rodents to me . . . soon, I was enamored with the idea of taking care of chins! And then I found some little boy chins at the same rescue that I had adopted kayla and I put in an application. However, the rescuer never got back (I noticed an entire thread on this rescue place, and she hasn't gotten back to anyone!) Anyway, the chin bug had bit me! So I found a local breeder (NO PETSTORES for me!) . . .chincherub. She posts on here for sales. And we picked up our two male chins last night! They are beautiful standards. And chincherub set us up with everything we could possibly need and is ALWAYS available for advice and help! The smallest of the two has already jumped right into my hands and lets me take him out, the larger one seems a bit shyer, but we are just being patient.
Anyway, thank you all so much for having this forum! It is such a wealth of info. I have already delved into so many of the threads to help me find out which stores to use for what products!
I will write soon when we have named the boys. As my husband says, we need to watch their behavior before we name them!
Thanks again! And Hello!
