Hi I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Lacy and I live in Texas. I just recently brought a new hedgehog and we have named him Sonic. He is currently living with my boyfriend, Curtis, since I have already brought to many animals home with me. :) I currently have a lab named Sidney, a cat named Laya and two hamsters named Serg and Doughnut. I just love animals no matter what they are, and when I first saw Sonic I just had to get him. :hearts: My older cousin had one and I had helped her some and thought that he would make a great pet.
He was the only one left out of a litter of three, and I know that he was handly alot by the different people in the store. I got him from a pet store, Dogpatch, here in my home town. I knew my family wouldn't want another pet at the house, so thankfully Curtis was just as excited as I was and Sonic came home that day. Although I do trust the pet shop, I would like to know as much as I can about my new son. I have read books but I think people who I gone through some of my problems could tell me better ways of dealing with them.
My first question is how we get him to open up to us. We have had him for a month now and he still balls up every time we pick him up. It is taking him less time to uncurl and look around, but is there a way to get him to be more comfortable around us? What can we do to make him friendlier? Thanks for letting me join I look forward to hear from you all.
