Fizzy's being so weird

I'm so glad to have Fizzy back home. She's my favorite. I know I shouldn't have favs but she's just too cute and too sweet.

Every since she's been back she'd been really weird. She stays 'up late' and is still wide awake at 10:30am while everyone else is deep asleep. She's obsessing about her tp tube. She's always liked them but not to this extent.

Also she is sleeping right out in the open. She has several hiding options but she is sleeping right in the middle of her cage and looks like a little debbie snoball.

My two have been sleeping out in the open lately too. Usually they hide under their beloved blankies in a corner or Kahlua likes to hide under her wheel and sleep, but lately Herbie is out in the middle of his cage and all the litter is removed and he's sleeping in the middle of this "hole" he's dug out and then has his blankie over him. I switched them to cotton blankies cause it's been so hot. I also have an oscillating fan blowing on the opposite side of the room just so they don't get too hot. Kahlua has been sleeping partially uncovered which is very unusual for her...she is still very timid and shy and will huff even when you walk by her cage. Yesterday I caught her with her little butt hanging out and her legs all sprawled out, completely uncovered. Too cute! :hearts:

All I can say is your girlie is prob acting a little funny because of the summer heat and scheduling. Mine have been a little off schedule too because I go to bed later and get up later too, so that might be why Fizzy is staying up past her "bedtime". I wouldn't be too worried unless her mood, eating habits, etc. change.

I can't really help about why Fizzy is acting different, but good news is it doesn't sound like anything is wrong. That is funny about sleeping out in the open like that (love the Little Debbie Sno-ball Reference! hahaha. You must take a pic!!). Maybe she just feels really comfortable and secure and she's glad to be back too? :winkgrin:

Maybe she got off schedule since she was gone. It could have changed her time clock a bit to be around the other hogs and what they were use to. Just make sure she doesn't have her litter out in the open. She could just be hot though, right before Snuggles had her litter she would lay spread eagle out in the middle of her cage as if she were exhuasted. Hope everything goes well.

you know what's funny? I brought one of my babies to an engagement party with me yesterday (she was a BIG hit, of course!) and EVERYONE kept comparing her to a little debbie's snowball cake, too! Even though she's an algerian gray! hahaha :lol:

Very cute!!!! She does look like a sno-ball! I think it's pretty cool that she feels secure enough to just sleep right out in the open! I agree with the others that maybe it's because of the heat? My fraidy-hog has to be burrowed under something to sleep, no matter how hot it is. It's 104 degrees here in Chicago today and he is under a blanket in an igloo. Silly!

It never occured to me before to compare a hedgie to a snack cake but now that I have it seems to be an obvious comparison. I'm glad your friends all liked your girl :D
