I dont no if this is a complete waste of words but Im kinda worried about Poke. She was fine until last night. I recently put a liner in her cage (two nights ago), and she was fine the first night. Then, Last night, she spent ALOT of time rearranging (sp) her cage. She hasn't done that since the first night i got her. Okay, this is what she did:

1.) She pulled the liner from one end to the other, going UNDER her heavy tube and toys. She got about a quarter of the liner on top of her sleeping place.
2.)She must've transferred a bunch of shavings in her mouth because she could not have gotten them there any other way. She put quite a bit of shavings into her sleeping blanket...

Do you think shes trying to make a nest or something? Well, If shes pregnant, I don't know, but I tried to feel her belly for babies to no avail. She's still not that comfortable with me touching her belly so its a bit difficult but I feel a small lump in there somewhere. It might also just be her belly since shes still fat... :dunno: lol...anyways, any thoughts would be VERY much appreciated. Pray that Poke isn't pregnant (but I've been needing some more hedgies....hmmmmmm....i take that back... :p j/k...)....

Hope for the best...
HIJO :)

Hi there.... ummm.... is she living with a male hedgie? Or has she been with a male hedgie in the past 5 to 6 weeks? If not, she's probably just bored and rearranging her digs. :-)

no she hasn't, but I'm worried about at the petstore. They might've had a male in there before I got her...Owell, I am not as worried now...

If you've had her for at least 2 months, I don't think you have anything to worry about. A couple of my hedgehogs move their bedding every so often and create bare spots in their habitats.

But if you do end up with babies, it'll be lots of fun!

When in doubt, treat her as if she's pregnant. I hope you've been doing some research. Might as well take her wheel out and move her into a quiet area of the house. I'm not sure when you got her, but assuming she got pregnant on June 17th, she would be 7 days overdue (on her 42nd day today). When she passes day 55 with no babies, you can assume she was not pregnant. Good luck.

I think she would kill me if I took her wheel out, but I'll do that just in case...

Do you remember what day you got her?

You got her around 6/16 http://www.chins-n-quills.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80410

That's 42 days ago. I doubt seriously that she's pregnant.

She was 17 weeks when you got her so she's still a baby and still growing. I doubt seriously if she's "fat" the way you say. I certainly hope you aren't restricting her food. At her age she needs kibble available all the time and she can be expected to put on weight.

I'm definetely not restricting her food. I think she will just be a larger girl when she grows up....i think i just felt an organ in her tummy somewhere. I actually am not worried at all anymore that shes pregnant either. Shes acting normally now..
