I was just wondering if it would be ok to leave NacL in his play area (the inescapable and safe guest bathtub) overnight as long as there was water and food and a hidey place? He wouldn't have his wheel because it's permanently attached to his habitat, but I thought he might like longer periods of time in there, and unfortunately I tend to be earlier to bed (10:30, which is right when he's really gettin' geared up.) :dunno:

What are your thoughts?

I dont see why there would be a problem with it, as long as it's a safe area that he can't escape and the bathtub doesn't leak water (like mine....grr!) The only thing he might really miss is his wheel. And hedgies without wheels have a lot of time on their hands to discover ways to escape from "escape-proof" places!!

There shouldn't be much of a problem. Be prepared to wake up one day and find that your bathtub has been smeared with waste though. ;)

My concern would be that the floor of a bathtub is often very cool. I would be worried about the posibility of attempted hibernation.

hmm, good point Nancy. Although it is pretty darn warm in there. what if I lined the floor of it with fleece or newspaper?

I agree with Nancy about the cool floor, especially if your tub is ceramic. Mine is one of those plastic tub-suround things and it still gets cool with the A/c on.
