Hello everyone, As some of you know I have 4 females. I want to start introducing 3 of my females to cut down on play times and cleaning. It kinda getting a bit hard doing 5 different play times, Each one having a full hour... I want to cut down and put 3 of my females *Raelin, Honey, and Kiha* together and make it a 2 hour play time with each other and so on. Well, I'm so scared of something happening because they really don't know each other well. I know the sisters, Raelin and Kiha, Do know each other but Honey don't. I'm scared I might be doing it all wrong or something. I'm scared of one biting the other. I've have had a hedgehog bite the other and that was Zoey and Nuka when I 1st got them. Can anyone tell me how I can do it and they won't fight??? I have a kiddy pool with new paper along with bottom, There is a bucket wheel TP tubes and cat balls. Should I keep all toys in there or take everything out and see what happens? I put Kiha in 1st with Honey and watched then added Raelin. Realin mainly just wants to snuggle up. Kiha is curious about the new comer. Honey is not a very friendly hedgehog and mainly huffs. I was watching them with my hand right over they're backs so I could just grab one if something went on but nothing happened other then Honey licking Kiha.:) Is licking a good thing or bad???
Right now Kiha and Raelin are the only ones in the pool Honey is on my lap....

I usually keep a very close eye on them the first couple of nights they are together to make sure they don't get into any tiffs. They will probably annoint off of each other, at least mine do. I've never really had a problem with my girls together at play time and there are 9 of them.

I set up my playpen with toys and hiding spaces and I put all 5 of my girls in their together. I put them all in different areas of the pen. Annabelle, Juliet and Madelaine found each other right away. They've played together before. Scarlet just kind of hung out by herself, sniffing everyone as they walked by. Harriet, my crabby pants girl, actually unballed and went to check out the rest of the hogs right away!
I only left them in there for 30 minutes the first night and I supervised them the whole time ready to pull out the naughty ones.
Maybe try all of them for a short period of time? or do them in groups like you were doing. As for the licking, as long as it doesn't turn to annoying chewing for the hog, I would be too worried :)

Pretty Good. Honey is still huffy but she hasn't done anything to hurt or show she's gonna hurt the others... I'm still watching closely though.
:confused:I have another question though... It's about Zoey, Does anyone have a reason WHY I should not give her a bath??? She hasn't had a bath in just about 5 months. I've been wetting paper towels or small wash cloths and cleaning off her feet. But Do you think a bath might help her relax? She still has the bubbles from the nose but nothing else.... I was thinking I should just set her in warm water for a little bit and dry her really good. It would just be to wash off all the dirt and med that she has spit out. I've tried wiping but I just don't feel that enough...

I think it would do her some good! but just make sure that you get her well dryed off befor you put her back. That's just my opinon.

I would also be careful that you don't get any water in her nose, (i know you wouldn't anyway) but because she has the bubbles from her nose it might be extra important not to get any water down there. Good Luck :)
