Peeing......

Tutter has Carefresh bedding on the bottom of his cage in the steel pull out pan (which is the whole bottom of the cage). I'm not sure what is wrong..... He keeps peeing on his pine shelves and on top of his hut... GROSS
Is there anyway to get him to pee on the bottom of his cage in his bedding/litter?

My chins are also peeing on their house and not the bedding. I have to sand it down every other night! It would be great if there is a way to stop this.

Did you change to carefresh recently?

This might be your chins way of telling you that pine bedding is what they prefer - so you would have to put up with the mess to keep the stuff in the cage cleaner.

I changed over to Hemp bedding recently as I'm allergic to pine and didn't like the shreaded paper bedding (anything like that he wants to eat isn't ok by me). Just a suggestion. It's a little more expensive but is a renewable resource, doesn't smell, he doesn't eat it and it cleans up easily.
