I never introduced myself, so I'm going to say hi now! I've been on this website for a couple of months now, posted a few things here and there, but I've mainly been finding chins good homes. My mom got a chin for christmas in 2003, and then I got mine in November 2004. She got a male and named him Merlot, and mine's a female and her name is Rayna. We wanted to have chinchiwwa babies, but Rayna is small and actually can't get pregnant, so now then we just had two chins to spoil :hearts: I moved into my own apartment in May, and wanted to take Rayna but my mom didn't think it was fair to separate them, so she appointed me guardian of Merlot. YAYS! So now I have two beautiful babies to spoil. I also have a border collie/english setter pound puppy named Stewart. At first, he tried to chase them during playtime, but after he nipped at Rayna once, I punished him and now he won't go near them, which is a very good thing for them!

A few months ago, there was a chin at a pet store that I frequent, and he was the meanest little bugger ever! He was there for about 4 months, and finally the manager, whom I had come to know pretty well, offered him to me for $50 so that he could have a forever home. I gave him to a friend, who named him Loki. He adapted pretty well, and hardly ever nips anymore! So then, of course, I had to find him a playmate, and found twin 4-month-old girls from Jim Rodenbush. The original plan was for me to bring them home and see which one my two got along with and then we were going to place the other one with Loki. But Rayna tried to hurt both of them, and whenever they were separated, they started to cry. So I decided to keep both, and named them Psyche and Furie. Then I realized that I didn't have enough time between work and school for 4 chins and my doggie, so I gave the twins to another girl who lives with Loki's mommy. Last Monday night, my friend came home from work, and found Psyche lying on the bottom of the cage; she choked on a piece of food  So now my latest endeavor has been to find Furie a new friend, and may have found one already! We're taking Furie up to Pittsburgh tomorrow to visit Trouble, a 3-month-old male, to see how they get along.

I love this forum! Everyone has been so helpful and there is lots of chinnie love to spread around! So I just wanted to say hi and give a bit of background, and if you ever know of a chin needing a home with a few hundred miles of Wheeling, WV, send them my way! I'll take in any of them, and if I can't find them a good home, they'll be my forever friends!

Your chins should really have same sex partners... not opposite- especially if they are under a year old. It is dangerous to the females to get pregnant (they could die...)

thanks for the news...I never thought of it that way. I was thinking that since they are both so young, that it would be okay. Thanks for your help!

i agree absolutely with Lisa, unless you have done years of research you should not have opposite sex pairs housed together.
