HI there everyone
I joined here a while ago but i have been really busy with setting up my chinchilla unit. I have them all in the house right now and hopefully in the next 4 weeks my shed will be built and i can start insulating etc, good ole british weather will have me working on the shed for a while before i can say its ready for the chinchillas, I have bought an Air con unit to go into too so fingers crossed i get it done before winter sets in here.
I also have a site called Granite City Chinchillas based in the UK, my home town is Aberdeen Scotland which is also known as the granite City because of a huge Granite Quarry we have - hence the name lol.
I did post a while back about my chin having a strange lump - which i am glad to say as dissapeared after antibiotic treatment p so just saying hi again and introducing myself again lol
Kind regards
Wenda

Well the chinchilla shed is mostly how the UK breeders keep their chinchillas, i will only have a small number going into mine - around 20 at the moment with them mostly being in pairs in large cages rather than having them in the polyagomous system. I will be getting a row on poly cages but these will be specially made by a breeder friend and will be about twice the size of the normal ones over here in the UK.
The Its now three weeks away until the shed is built and i cant wait to get started, we are using a baby monitor with a temperature reading after a friend of mine suggested thats what i could use to monitor whats going on out here when i am indoors, eventually i want cctv in the chin shed as i think it would be rather fun watching what they get up to when no ones around .
I will post pics once its up and running and let you all see it
Kind regards
Wenda

That sounds very interesting indeed. I don't think I'd like to go out in the cold though to get to my chins halfway across the yard. But that's my low tolerance for the old. Can't wait to see pics, it sounds very high-tech with cameras and everything eventually. Post pics of your babies too. :)

Welcome. My parents used to live outside of Aberdeen. Went to spend a couple of months there waiting on my divorce. Absolutely loved it. I believe they were in Drumligair (sp). Can't remember the rest of it and I know there was more.
I'm with you Tails. I just can't take the cold. When it gets into the 50's I start to freeze. I call it butt shakin cold. Cause the ole butt cheels start to shake. Now if I could control it and do it at will I might have another career option... :O

Oh, and Wenda, if you go to your UserCP, you can make a signature like all of us have and then you don't have to type it at the end of each post.
