Quilling! Briar is 11 months old on august 21 and he is still QUILLING! :banghead: I thouhgt that this ended when they were like 6-8 months not eleven? I am tired of picking quills out of his liners, before washing them, and stepping on them, :banghead: and i can't wait until its over ( if it ever ends) He still has new quills coming in so it is not mites, do you think that there is something wrong with him or that he is just a bit behind :dunno: ?

I now call my room the quill room :dizzy: because their are quills every where, Noah is still quilling ( he's only 5 months ) , and it seems like you can't move without stepping on a quill :scared:

Another quick question I was cleaning out Noah today and i found a half of a quill  I never found the other half do you think he might have bitten the other end off?? I thought that it was really hard to break quills?? :dizzy:

well they say quilling can last up to a year (am i right???)...even adults lose quills once in a while...this probably doesn't answer your question at all! hahahahaha! Sorry! :)

I've noticed some of my hedgehogs quill more then others, I don't exactly know why but I've had some stop shortly after 6-7 months and a few that are still going to town and reaching 8-9months. I feel your pain though, stepping on a quill is no fun at all.

Murdoc is over a year and is still "quilling". A vet visit ruled out mites, and healthy new quills continue to grow in to replace the billions that he loses on a daily basis.

I think Hemi just started quilling...and she'll be 6 months old on the 23rd. She shed a couple quills earlier, and now, I'm finding three here, two there, one in my foot...But she has nice big new quills coming in as well.

Maybe 6-8 months is just an approximation, and we get the 'special' hedgies who choose to quill until they turn 2 or 3. ahah.
