I am very impressed by my little Jyra. I have only had her since Tuesday, and I have seen some improvements already! She used to hiss at me when I worked in her cage, but she stops when I speak to her. During playtime she explored me a little bit (not much), but she didn't bit me again (which definately helps me feel more comfortable and confident)...

And she is so smart! I noticed during playtime she used her shoebox as a litterbox (fine by me!), so I put it in her cage with her, and she used it last night too.

The only thing is it is a shoebox so it won't last very long. Any suggestions as what I can use to replace it would be great. I might look for some kind of tupperware box, but it would have to be soft enough plastic to cut through it...

Anyway, just wanted to share!

Patience pays off :)
I use shallow baking pans (8x10) with a low lip to keep litter in. Do you have any dollar stores near you? You can find lids, pans, etc. for dirt cheap. A shoebox would be okay for a couple of days before it would need to get replaced... but then again, it's a great reason to have to buy new shows- to keep your supplied with lots of "potties" ;)

I highly doubt my husband would go for that! I have tons of shoes already. I think I may go shopping tomorrow for stuff, and will look at the dollar store. If nothing else, they sell little gift boxes I could cut through, and cover with plastic.

I guess I better start making a shoppig list!
