As long as I can remember I have always wanted a hedge hog
and now my dreams have come true I got my first hedgie on friday
she/he is 16 weeks old I bought her at a pet store I know not the greatest place to go but she/he is so adorable.I say she/he becuase they told me she/he is a girl but all the books from the library I got and the looks
of its underbelly say diffrent so till he is rdy to show me i guess I will call her/him.I have named it carmela.she has to get use to me but is adapting well except for the fact every time I go to pick carmella up she rolls into a ball and wont come out.....But I have noticed her quills are relaxing as I stroke her back and she is now peeking out at me from her ball listening to my voice as I gently talk to her... so we are getting used to each other slowly.My brother was nice enough to give me one of his 60 gallon aqariums for her to run in and I went to the dollar and craft stores and have made her tubes to weave her self in and out of.I have also slept with a tea towl and put it in there for her to get used to my scent. and she has decided to make this her bed!! I have one of my daughters shoe boxes in there so she dragged the tea towl in there for her bedding.Last night she uncurled almost totally and she allowed me to hand feed her a piace of chicken but she still huffs and rolls into a ball when I try to pick her up well looking forward to meeting you all and sharing experiences and pictures.
