Hi! I'm new too

Hello everyone! My name is Rach and I just got my first chinchilla, Chili (2yr old male). My friend has a million pets and she was giving him away, so I took him. He wasn't taken care of all that well, but I'm happy to say I'm learning a lot on here and changing that. I've had him two weeks and he now has a huge homemade melamine cage, toys and stuff to chew on, and is being switched to better food and hay. He gets playtime outside of his cage for the first time ever and he seems really happy.:)
