Can someone post a picture of how short you should cut their nails.... I'm always scared that i will cut them too short so i leave then somewhat long. :dunno:

You should cut right before you get to the pink part. If you do accidently cut to far don't worry just dab some cornstarch on it to stop the bleeding (bleeding animals nail's are a lot like head wounds...they bleed alot but they're usually not that bad) The only problem you'll have if any after that would be a little hesitation from Popples about letting you trim again. Try not to be nervous, I've noticed animals can sense this and it makes them more nervous and wiggly, which means there's more chance of an over cut... I say this with experiance as I get to trim dog, hedgie and ferret nails on a regular basis. If you still need pictures let me know and I'll see what I can come up with.

Ok thanks.... Some parts look that the pink is long!

yeah but the pink part on there nails is like the cresent on the tip of our nails, the main reason to trim the nails is because they can get sharp, and if they do get to long they can get jagged and break off. I don't make it a big priority to trim the hedgie's nail's unless I look and they seem to desperately need it, otherwise they're so soft they tend to wear themselves down.

Ok thanks! Will keep that in mind, I don't feel bad now that his nails are sometime long.

Like today I trimmed Togape's nails (in hopes to keep her from climbing) and I only actually cut 4 or 5 nails
