I noticed that Sonics’s teeth have gotten sharp. When we first got him, his teeth were kind of flat. But yesterday he bit on of our friends on the arm and he left fang marks. I then looked at his teeth and he has two little fangs sticking out.

Is this normal? Are they suppose to have sharp teeth?

Thanks,
Lacy

Hedgehogs have very sharp teeth because they are insectivores. They need something to crush those exoskeletons on the insects they eat. What is he currently eating? How old is he? Usually as hedgies age, their teeth become worn down from the kibble that makes up the majority of their diets.

Hehe I think their "fangs" and toothy grins are part of their charm :)

Ok I was just wondering if something was wrong. Sonic is 5 months old and he is eating a mixture of two types of Hedgehog food one looks like kibble and the other is made of grain and mixed fruits. I also give him mealworms and crickets once a week and as a treat.
