Here's my Granny's Quick Cobbler recipe...I've made it with all different kinds of fruit and everyone LOVES it!!!

1 cup sugar
1 cup Flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 cup milk
3/4 cup butter
1 large can (2 1/2 cups) fruit (pie filling), if you use fresh fruit put in a sauce pan with a little water and a little sugar and heat for a bit)

I've found a medium sized Pyrex bowl works well..
Melt butter and pour in bottom of bowl..
Mix together, milk, flour and baking soda and pour in bowl on top of butter...
Pour in fruit
Sprinkle with the sugar
Bake at 350 degrees until batter comes through fruit and gets to desired crispiness.
(note- make sure you've got new/good baking powder so the batter moves to the top)

Top hot cobbler with Old fashioned vanilla ice cream!! YUMMMMM!!!
(my two favorites are blackberry and strawberry...just using the canned pie filling!!!)

1/2 cup of butter
1 1/2 cups of Sugar
1 Cup of Self Raising flour
1 Cup of Milk
6 tsps of Sugar
1 Large can of fruit (29oz? can or 2 small cans) (You could use fresh fruit too.)

Melt butter in 13x9 baking pan (I put a metal pan on top of the cooker and turn one of the hobs on)

Mix 1 1/2 cups of Sugar , flour and milk together in a bowl.

Pour into center of melted butter in pan. (the batter will spread across the pan)

Pour fruit over that, use about a 1/4 cup of the juice

Sprinkle 6 tsps of Sugar over the top.

Bake at 425F until top is brown. About 20-25 minutes.

This is a recipe that was passed down from my hubby's granny. It is very good!!!

I know this is an older thread but I just tried this recipe and it was great. I used frozen peaches and it turned out great. I doubled the topping recipe because I used a 3 quart pan.

* 8 fresh peaches - peeled, pitted and sliced into thin wedges
* 1/4 cup white sugar
* 1/4 cup brown sugar
* 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
* 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
* 2 teaspoons cornstarch
*
* 1 cup all-purpose flour
* 1/4 cup white sugar
* 1/4 cup brown sugar
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, chilled and cut into small pieces
* 1/4 cup boiling water
*
* MIX TOGETHER:
* 3 tablespoons white sugar
* 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

DIRECTIONS:

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
2. In a large bowl, combine peaches, 1/4 cup white sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Toss to coat evenly, and pour into a 2 quart baking dish. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine flour, 1/4 cup white sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Blend in butter with your fingertips, or a pastry blender, until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in water until just combined.
4. Remove peaches from oven, and drop spoonfuls of topping over them. Sprinkle entire cobbler with the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Bake until topping is golden, about 30 minutes.
