For super-quick dumplings you can follow the recipe on a box of baking mix, like Bisquick or Jiffy. I usually add some fresh or dried parsley to pretty 'em up a bit.
Here is a recipe that I like: Paula Deen's Chicken & Dumplings (http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_26265,00.html)
Try searching The Food Network (www.foodnetwork.com) and Allrecipes (www.allrecipes.com). One of the best things about both sites is that the recipes are often very user-friendly and come with LOTS of reviews. Sometimes that's half the fun!

thank you... i loveeee watching paula... i never watch the food network, until her show comes on..
she's a true southern gal/cook... i thought about doing a search like that, but much rather would get suggestions from those who have actually cooked them..

I wish I knew how I make my dumplings.. All I do is take some flour, add some salt, add a tiny pit of pepper, add an egg, and add some water... but I have NO clue how much of each it is.. I just add until it looks "right".

I use Bisquick. It is so much easier than trying to make the "real" dumplings from scratch. The last time I tried to make non-Bisquick dumplings, we ended up going out to eat. (it was really bad!) I've never tried Paula's recipe, but it has to be good!

Dumpings sound yummy. I`ve never had one before. Are they like potstickers ? I used to eat potstickers everyday but they almost always contain meat and I`m a vegetarian now.

I've never had a potsticker, so I'm not sure. A dumpling is like a biscuit that is boiled or steamed, not baked. Sometimes that are more biscuit like and sometimes they are more noodle like, just depends on the consistency you prefer.
