I've read alot of people feeding their hedgies veggies. I tried it with Reiko tonight. I heard someone saying their hedgie loved tomatoes so I gave him a tiny peice. He loved it. He didn't eat very much, then started anointing for the very first time. Then he started throwing up!!! Why did he do this??? We got really worried about it. He got up like 3 good sized amounts, then he was fine. He's still running around all over the place and is in a great mood still. He doesn't feel hot, and his nose is still wet. What's going on??? He hasn't thrown up since, but I didn't know if this is common. His daddy got all crazy worrying about him so did I but he seems good now.

Well, that sounds weird! Paco really won't eat any of the veggies I've tried giving him yet...still loves his mealies! Hope you figure out if that's normal!!! I bet he'll be ok though!

He is acting fine now, I am wondering if maybe it was either a little too acidic for his tummy, or if he had a little bit of an allergic reaction?

I usually stay away from citrus or acid type fruits and veggies. I would say try peas, carrots and things like that. I've heard celery is bad because of the stringy texture. I've also heard no avacados. Sorry to hear about his tummy ache but it's good to hear he's fine now.

Well, I am definately staying away from the veggies like that now, I am in the process of boiling some carrots for him. I'll cool them in the fridge overnight and try them tomorrow. I don't want to give him anything else tonight.

On top of all that he's quilling so bad. I can't believe how many little tiny quills are comming in. I gently pushed his quills in the opposite direction and I swear there is at least 1 new quill for every 3 old quills. I imagine he's probably pretty miserable because of that. I gave him another oatmeal and vit.e oil bath earlier. It relaxes him soo much!!!

The tomato was probably too acidic for his tummy, esp. since he's still a baby. My kids will only eat the veggies in the baby food form. I used to try giving them thawed mixed veggies that were diced. They ended up in the litterbox for one straight week. I took the hint!
