Is there any way to tell someone you won't go out with them simply because you just don't want to date right now, without it seeming like your trying to blow them off because you don't like them?

Tell him that...? Being honest should work-eitherway someones probably gonna get hurt. Be nice and sincere about it.

That's what I figured. I was just hoping there was something I'd over-looked *shrug*

I don't think there is... i could be wrong but I don't think so. You wouldn't want to ask someone out and have them go out with you just so they won't feel bad would you? I'd rather have them be honest about it..... JMO

you could say that you're not ready to date, but you wouldn't mind going to get a burger or something.

friends can go get burgers together, not just bf/gf's
who knows, maybe you will make an awesome friend out of the ordeal.

otherwise, if you don't want to make an awesome friend, be truthful. its better to tell someone the truth than it is to lie and have it come back at you later on.

Just tell them that you arent ready for a relationship yet. But whatever you do DO NOT start to go out with the guy, and then after a week or so "decide" that you aren't ready for a relationship. I had a friend do this to two of my awesome guy friends, and they were devestated. If you dont want a relationship right now, then its best to just come out and say that.

I hope that helped hunny.

Since I'm busy every weekend, then I tell them exactly that- "I already have plans". I was asked again if I was going to a dance and finally felt bad enough to say no but I'll hang out sometime. He never asked me again (thankfully. I know it sounds bad but really...) and this year we haven't talked (which I don't mind)
