Prickles died

We are so sad here. Prickles passed away Yesterday. We were so sad, and had little warning. Tues night he was fine, but a little quiet and did not run on his wheel(which he usually does). Wedsday I found him dead in the morning when we woke up. We had had him a little more than 5 weeks. Any reasons this would suddenly happen? WE are going to replace him but wonder what the heck happened.

ohhh I'm soo sorry to hear of your loss, you only had him a short bit of time. How old was Prickles? Sometimes they just pass and the cause can only be guessed.

Prickes was 8 weeks old when we got him, we lad him a little over 5 weeks:(

Wow he was pretty young then. I'm not sure what could have caused a sudden death at that age. Was he from a breeder or a petstore? I would contact whoever you got him from and tell them what happened.

If you really want to know what happened you can do a necropsy. Though because this post is a few days old I'm guessing this is no longer an option.

I would definately contact the person you purchased Prickles from and let them know what happened and decribe in detail the care you were providing.

Also there's a chance that the age was fibbed to you depending on where you got him from.

I'm really sorry Prickles lost. It's always hard to loose a pet and especially hard for you since you had him just over a month.
