My girlfriend gave me a new male hedgie yesterday - he is identical to DCI Prickles except he has a small patch of white quills on his left hip.
The great thing is he has the same "in your face, my way or the highway" attitude as DCI Prickles. He is gentler that DCI Prickles, but does bite to make a point (but only in a quick nip not hard enough to break the skin fashion) and won't take "no" for an answer when he wants to do something. Like his namesake, he is also a master at escaping, climbing and hiding and loves his bath. Unlike the original Prickles, if you don't come looking for him when he hides, he comes out to see why. Lady Cupcake tried to "adopt" him, but he won't have any part of that. He ignores the two dogs, perhaps because he was in a big exotic pet place where there were scents of all kinds of animals around him from birth.
He goes to school with my girlfriend who is teaching her fourth graders about adaptations in animals. She says he really loves the kids and so far hasn't bitten any.
Anyway, I am glad to have him, particularly since my girlfriend plays with Cupcake almost constantly so I don't get to hold her much (either "her", darn it!)
