I read on another site that mixing in Baby Oatmeal Flakes is a good way to add fiber. I have not seen this on any other sites & was wondering if this is correct or not.

Ive used baby cereal in my hedgies food- they really seemed to like it :) I always notice that on nights when they got flax seed oil and baby cereal mixed in with their kibbles they end up eating much more. Little piggies :)
Ive also heard of people using grape nuts (with mixed success- some are pickier than others)

Do you mix the cereal and the flax seed oil together or drip the oil over the kibbles and sprinkle the flakes on top?
Just wondering.
Thanks

I sprinkle the grape nuts on top of the kibble, otherwise it will all settle at the bottom of the dish and they won't touch them. The baby food flakes are a better hit here. I can mix them with their fruit, veggies and chicken breast, and they don't know the difference :)
I do have some hedgies that really like the grape nuts though

I use a little bran /oat bran on top of my guys kibbles along with some flax seed oil , I don't know how much they like the bran , but i know that they eat some of it even if it is by mistake! And I think that it has made their poops more normal looking

I drip a couple drops of the flaxseed on the kibble, then shake it up good, and then sprinkle some flakes ontop and shake it up again :)
