Pretty Pets?

Okay, previous to this I would never have considered feeding any of those hedgehog specific foods to my guys, but I was recently given a small bag (maybe 3lbs) and I don't know what to do with it. I know some people feed this, and only this, and have gotten away with it, but I know of others on Vitakraft who weren't as lucky. If I mix it at maybe a 1:5 ratio with with my current mix (Wellness and Royal Canin) do you think it would matter?

Yes it would matter. Don't feed it. It's totally inappropriate for hedgehogs and would significantly lower the nutritional value of what you now feed. Offer it to the birds.

I concur. Your Wellness-RC mix is just fine without that Pretty Pets.

It's also very pretty glued to cardboard. That's why they named it "Pretty Pets". It looks good on the floor. Where the hedgehogs usually toss it.

I've found that dogs like Pretty Pets hedgehog food. I know my puppy just gobbles it up. Everytime I give her a handful from the bag that came with Hemi almost a year ago, she thinks it's Christmas time.

I am surprised. When I tried to give it to my cats, they just threw it on the floor and went on a hunger strike.

I wouldn't even consider feeding either Pretty Pets or VitaCrap. I could be given a lifetime supply and I still wouldn't feed it. :)

Yeah. When we had a hedgehog, we had fed Vitacrap before we knew any better. When I found out how bad that was, I was like, throw that S@#* away! And my college is retarded about feeding thier hedgehogs. When I told them that the Pretty Pets was pretty bad and insufficient for hedgies, I suggested to use a GOOD quality cat food instead. Wanna know what they did? The switched the hedgies- young and fat adults alike- to Science Diet Kitten. *puking* I about hit the roof. Then they switched them to Science Diet Adult Cat *again puking* I don't understand why vets like it so much because its a horrible food. When i take one of the hedgies home on my breaks, she gets a Premium Edge/Purina One mix. Purina One isn't the best, but i think its much better that Science Diet, and Hotaru will eat it. She barely touches the Science Diet here but if i go home and mix Purina One in with the Premium Edge, she will eat the whole dish in one night. Guess I know hedgehogs better than these people do.
