Hello! I don't want to sound like a "taddle-tell" but I was just wondering if we needed to wait until we had 50 posts before we sold anything. I have seen a few members with under 50 posts selling chins and other things and I was under the impression (according the rules) that that was not allowed. I'm not planning on selling chins, but may have a cage or two I'd like to post for sale.

I didn't think it would be possible. According to the rules, you have to have at least 50 posts.

As of right now, they are temporarily "grandfathered" in. Because they were members before the rule took effect, they were allowed to post in classifieds. This is currently under review by the administration.

I noticed a member posting chins for sale and she has FIVE posts and she's been here for a year and a half! LOL She OBVIOUSLY isn't a contributing member to CnQ. She probably lost some posts when Sandra did the rollback in the classified section... :O

I was wondering about this. I posted a classified ad after seeing a few sellers on the first page with 5 or less posts, but it wasn't approved. When was this rule added, out of curiosity? I did lose quite a few posts out of the Buy & Sell area, but I didn't have 50.

Oh well I guess... maybe potential chin buyers will see the lack of posts and go elsewhere? I mean he/she may be a good breeder and knowledgeable chin owner but I do think it's a little odd. Who knows.

That's EXACTLY what has happened to most of these people. No longer will there be a counter rollback when there is a purge. Once a post is made, the only way it will be deleted from your counter is if it was actually deleted for content or rules violation. Otherwise, your post count should NEVER go down, (or so that's the way I think it should work). Once a post is made, it's made. No reason to take it away from someone.

January 16, 2006. "New Forum Rules" was and still is I believe posted at the top of every forum. You can also find it in the FAQs across the top, next to "User CP". :)

I don't think that the number of posts should (no saying it doesn't) have any effect on who people choose to buy stuff from. You don't have to post a million times to prove you know something, and likewise you don't get more knowledge just because you post. I think that the members that are on here can recognize when a contributing member of the forum has items for sale, etc. because they see them reply to posts and what not. Just my thought....

I agree with this. Just because someone has fewer posts on Chins-N-Quills, doesn't mean they are not good quality animals or supplies.
