I have a question. I am getting a hedgie in a few weeks from HHV. I am wondering if it would be better to get a 3 or 4 month old hedgie who is done quilling or a 6 or 8 week old hedgie? It will be my first hedgie. Can anybody tell me which one would be a better choice and why? Thank you!

There's no guarantee that a hedgehog who is 4 months old will be done quilling. They can quill up to and sometimes past 6 months of age.

I'd go with the one you like best.

I would check out the personality of both, see which one better suits you, and get that one. Hedgie hugs...Tiffany

I completely agree. I always tell people not to automatically go for a younger hedgehog just because it is younger. And even if it isn't finished quilling, the older one might be through the most of it and could be potentially more mellow.

Your best bet is to talk to the breeder and ask about the individual personalities.
