When to feed what?

Ok starting a new thread for my peace of mind even though I'm currently researching old ones.

Ok I have the list of foods for hedgies now and such but when do you feed what and how much?

For example do you feed the cat food with water every night, then add maybe turkey for instance or another table food with that every second night? I also I read to give them only one type of table food at a feeding?

Antoher ques. it says it is ok to give fruits and cottage cheese etc. but then another thread said it is sweet and the cheese is fattening. So my question is how often do you give those foods: once a week?

i kind of free feed wolfgang -- whenever his kibble looks low, i just refill it. he eats a little less than two tablespoons each night.

they need a constant supply of fresh water, so i always refill his bottle and his waterbowl (he has both and just drinks from whichever strikes his fancy i think :) )

he gets a sprinkling of grapenuts once a week for fiber, and two or three mealworms on sundays for a treat.

probably giving them just one treat (like turkey or baby food) at a time makes it easier to see what they like and dislike.
if something's high in fat, i'd say it's best just to give a little bit once a week.

i've also heard that hedgehogs are lactose intolerant? but many other people will know this better than i do. :)
